March 15, 2017
After 10 years in the television broadcast industry, award-winning journalist and TV news anchor, Meaghan Norman joins NP Strategy to manage media relations for the strategic communications firm.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Meaghan on our team,” said Leighton Lord, Managing Director of NP Strategy. “Meaghan brings a critical eye and deep understanding of today’s news industry which will greatly benefit our clients who are, or who will, engage with the media.”
Norman was most recently a prominent weekend evening anchor at Columbia’s NBC affiliate WIS-TV News 10 as well as host of a weekly Sunday morning program targeting community and public interests. She has more than ten years of experience in newsrooms across the country.
“I am excited to join such an energetic and active communications team,” said Norman. “NP Strategy serves some of the leading companies and organizations in the state. I am thrilled to begin this new chapter in my professional career.”
“Meaghan is passionate and highly skilled in her work,” said Heather (Hoopes) Matthews, Director of NP Strategy and a former news reporter for WIS-TV. “Meaghan has the creativity and ability to tell stories that connect with a community. That skill will help us convey messages which are important to our clients. Meaghan will also provide video shooting and editing services to the companies and organizations we serve.”
Originally from Connecticut, Norman attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Cinema & Media Studies and later earned a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Norman will serve NP Strategy clients in North and South Carolina. She will work out of the firm’s Columbia, SC office.
For NP Strategy, the addition of Meaghan Norman is a continued trend of growth in 2017. In January, NP Strategy expanded into North Carolina with the addition of prominent economic development attorney Chris Kouri and senior public relations professional Erin Sanders.
